Ski Tow: Engineering Project
Honors Engineering, Design & Robotics I, Junior Year: 2020-21, Prototype #2
For my main junior engineering project, I built a ski tow. I was able to build a gear box that changed the motor’s high speed into high torque. The torque needed to be high enough to tow two kids or one adult.

Gear box attached to the lid of the ski tow

I attached a wheel to the gear box to test the end speed of the gear box

Final prototype of the ski tow
Setting up ski tow for a test run, using a skateboard in the backyard because I didn't have any snow
Length of the ski tow rope used for testing, secured between car and basketball hoop pole
